Christmas and New Year at Tullycross Cottage

Our family have made other plans for Christmas and New Year so our first floor apartment will be available for both holidays this year. We cannot guarantee a white Christmas but we can promise you a warm welcome and a cosy, comfortable holiday. It's the ideal place to stay particularly if you are visiting family and friends.

Summer Garden at Tullycross Cottage

Our garden which we started creating in 2008 (although the magnificent oak tree has been around for a lot longer) has developed beautifully this year. Bare earth has disappeared under ground cover. Almost everything has flourished especially the honeysuckle, hostas and astilbes.
We hope the garden will look even better in 2010. Come and see us and enjoy visiting some stunning west coast gardens.

Croftmanie in February Snow

We have had less snow in this area this February than in almost any other part of the United Kingdom. However, last week there was just enough snow and sparkling sunshine to make the hills and the rivers look beautiful. I enjoyed a long walk along part of the West Highland Way and on my way home I took this photograph of the River Endrick just below Killearn.

Snowdrops in February

Snowdrops in this part of Scotland have to be seen to be believed. They bloom in glorious abundance during February, in the woods and under hedges. Huge clumps can be found everywhere, pushing up through the winter leaves, sparkling white in the sunlight.
We can show you where to find some of the best snowdrops and you may also visit gardens open: white.visitscotland.com/snowdrop-festival.

Stay with us for two nights at £25 per person per night or £60 per night for up to four people. Get away for a weekend, or a few days at half term.

Happy New Year

This is the view of Loch Lomond from Duncryne Hill, a fifteen minute easy climb just five minutes drive from Tullycross Cottage. After travelling here, it can be a lovely way to unwind and a glorious surprise to find this splendid view.

Because of the current economic situation, we are NOT increasing our weekly prices in 2009, in the hope that as many people as possible can enjoy the peace and beauty of this interesting part of Scotland.
